 17th Sunday Ordinary Time
Introduction to the Liturgy
Resurrection Medical Center

Welcome to the 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Today is a special day in which we realize friendship within our families and friends.
Sometimes we say, “Actions speaks louder than words;” the disciples had seen Jesus praying and wanted to pray as He prayed.  They wanted to feel His experience of the union with the Father.

The prayer, Our Father, makes one to probe into ones life to see if I really live and forgive our trespasses as we for give those who trespass against us.  If we pray in this way we belong to God as His children because we have been buried with Christ in baptism.  To hear those words makes one to live humbly as we sin many times in our lives but God loves us unconditionally.
When 50 to 10 good people from Sodom and Gomorrah were not found the Merciful God would not punish the innocent.  This translates that God is full of mercy and compassion.

The miraculous story of God’s forgiveness is awesome.  On our part it makes one feel free, peaceful, and forces us to be loving to our family and friends.

First, we must forgive those who hurt and lie about us.  If you notice one of our symbols is the stole which is a sign of reconciliation.  Is there anyone in your life that you have not forgiven many years ago, a few years ago, today?

For those people; it’s sometimes extremely hard at times but it will set you free.  You will feel a calm embrace from God the Father.

As we sing the Our Father today, BE AT PEACE.  Sing freely and be not afraid to be heard.  At that point of the Liturgy we will hold hands and freely give of ourselves to each other and at the Rite of Peace.

Can you truly be at peace?
