 The guidance of the Spirit
Daily Meditations Year C
Mark Link

(Jesus said)  "I have much more to tell you, but now it would be too much for you…When, however, the Spirit comes….he will lead you into all the truth"  John 16: 12-13

Some Nicaraguan students were on a boat trip to the island of Utila, just off the country's northern coast.  One student asked to steer the ship. The captain agreed, saying, "Ok, just keep the needle at 335 degrees north."   Two hours later they arrived at Utila: the student was still steering.  How did the student steer the boat to an island the youth had never seen and couldn’t see at the start of the trip?  By simply following directions!  The Spirit is like that.  The Spirit can guide us to an "island" that we have never seen and cannot see at the moment.

When was the last time I asked the Spirit for special guidance in some situation?

We must not be content to be cleansed from sin; we must be filled with the Spirit.  John Fletcher

Reflection
To make contact with the Spirit
Attend to your breathing.
To make the first person, God breathed his on breath into him.
That breath is still generating our lives.  crsr
